GIRLS WEEKEND!!!The weekend of June 1-3rd was my weekend out. It started with the traditional first Saturday of the month helping Tom's parents at De Anza. This is a HUGE flea market. I guess I can appreciate this activity.. retail and one person's junk is another person's treasure is in my blood. (Thank you Grandpa!!) The morning started at 4:15 am when I woke up in a panic thinking I had over slept!! So I got up and started getting ready. On the road by 5 in order to reach the flea market by 6. An hour of set up and we are ready to go. Teapots, hinged boxes, tassel doll and more. Throw in my kittens, angel ... etc. You have a great day waiting to happen. Tear down begins around 2pm and on the road close to 3. I arrived back at the Plummer residence to find my guest for the evening and driving partners (Kate and Mary). Back on the road!! Arrive in Modesto at 6:30 and spent the next hour or so having heart to heart conversations. This was great. I think it gave me a chance to not only get to know my future sister in law, but acted as a cleansing experience for me. Jitter and nervous thoughts included. Get ready and go dancing!!! Hit the dance club by 9:30 PM (NO NAP!!!). Kari hosted a small bridal party night out. Mary charmed the men, but refused to let anyone dance with her. Good girl. Kate went techno and the strobe lights helped, Kari and I did a little tush pushing and electric sliding (Kate too). Kate won the scavenger hunt through no effort of her own. She had someone buy her a drink (she asked for water) and got a phone number. One last dance (We are Family!!!) Even Mary danced and home!!
Church the next morning at 8am. On the the Shower. Household gifts, LOTS of lingerie!!! And a Bridal Survival Kit. Mary won Bridal Bingo (with Elisabeth in a very close second... 3 seconds later) But Elisabeth rallied back and won the bell game. This is fitting, since I won the BELL Game at her shower... Delicious cheese cake for dessert and we are ready to head out. Wait, what's in your purse??? Mom and I had the most, but bowed out... I think Lynn or Grandma Olive won..... Everyone who showed up... THANK YOU!! I had a great time.
